General Information & Etiquette
Booking Tee Times
- Bookings can be made online up to one week in advance, click here to make your booking.
- To access this facility for the first time, please ensure that the office has your email address.
- Bookings can also be made on the terminal in the shop. Alternatively, the staff can assist with completing bookings, in the shop or over the phone.
- Every endeavour will be made to give priority to members for booking tee times.
Playing Etiquette
- Whenever a Start Sheet is operating, play shall ideally be in groups of four.
- All competition play and trophy events have precedence.
- Unless instructed otherwise by the office staff or starting marshall, all play shall commence from the 1st tee.
- When searching for a lost ball, immediately signal the players behind to play through. Those playing through will most often be completed in the 3 minutes allowed to search for a lost ball.
- Play without delay – play just behind the group in front, not just in front of the group behind! The lowest handicap player in each group shall be responsible for maintaining an acceptable speed of play to match that of the rest of the field.
- Players should commence tee off as soon as the fairway ahead is sufficiently clear and should not delay this process by completing score cards first.
- Know your stroke distance to avoid hitting up on players in front or for causing unnecessary delay by over-estimating your ability.
- Be courteous to your fellow players at all times:
- Do not move from your tee area while others in your group are teeing off – including on different tee blocks.
- Do not move, talk, stand close to, or directly behind the player, ball or hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke.
- If you are disappointed with your shot, an over-reaction (physical or verbal) is not acceptable.
- In taking practice swings, avoid damage to the course, particularly to the tee blocks, by taking divots.
- If participating in stableford or par competitions, pick up your golf ball at the point where it is no longer possible to obtain points or a score for that hole.
- If you do not intend taking your trundler with you to following strokes, ensure it is parked off the fairway and reasonably out of any usual line of play for your group or following players.
- Make yourself familiar with the Rules of Golf and Local Rules – both for your enjoyment of the game and to assist others where doubt over rulings and options may arise. Remember, all players in the field are disadvantaged if someone breaches a rule or the incorrect penalty is applied. Free copies of the Rules are available from the office.
Local Rules
Are as stated on the Local Rules Board in the foyer. Please note that GPS units are acceptable for all Club Trophy and Tournament events.
Completing Cards
Members must return a completed score card for each round played or part thereof, providing a minimum of 13 holes has been played in stroke play. The system also allows and adjusts for 9-hole cards submitted.
Where a card is not pre-printed, ensure your handicap index, course handicap, membership identification, the date, and tees played are entered on the card.
All returned cards must be signed by the player and a marker.
Hole-In-One shout
Included in your membership fee is the entitlement for the club to meet up to $150.00 for expenses incurred as part of the traditional hole-in-one shout, provided that the player is playing on the Wainuiomata course in an official competition. This includes any mid-week competition on Wednesday and Friday, and organised competitions or events held at the weekend or public holidays.
